I decided to get a "NEC ND-3520A DVD+RW 16X8X16 DVD-RW 16X6X16 Dual LAYER+R 4X INT IDE Beige OEM Burner W/ SW" because it had the best performance rating on videohelp and the media will be "Authentic Taiyo Yuden 8x 4.7 GB White Inkjet Hub Printable DVD-R Blank Media - 100 Pack". Someone posted that silver topped was the best but I have an inkjet printer which can print onto DVDs so I got the printables. Do I get your guys' seal of approval on that combination of hardware and media?
Multimedia Design student getting an AAS in Springfield, Oregon. I like Gymnastics and DVD authoring. I think the two go nicely together.

  4. Did you find a 3520 new? If so where? There's a place that still has the 3500 new. I've got one and no matter what people say it burns 100% reliable every time with TY media. I'd like to try a 3520 if I could get a new one.

I'm amazed you were able to find a 3520. I bought mine two years ago after reading the positive feedback here and have been very happy with it since. I use Verbatim printables as genuine TY are not available around here.

Will probably get a Pioneer 112 next as I also have a standalone DVD-RAM recorder these days. I've read the Pioneer has exceptionally good DVD-RAM performance.
