  1. Hi there.
Maybe someone can help me with this.

Today, "surfing" the net i came up with this page:
    http://spywarefiles.prevx.com/RRIFFI40409906/DAUDIOK.EXE.html

So... Prevx considers my little freeware application a threaten!?!?!?!
I know they haven't classified it yet as threaten but that's what will sound to the common user.

    they base their "theory" on:

    "# Runs other programs."
yes it runs as many other tools out there that launch cli applications.

"# Communicates with web sites using httpout protocols."
yes it does... as it is documented on the read me file, it connects to a TXT file (http://homepage.oniduo.pt/rockas/version.txt) to check is there is a new version available... user can disable the function on setup dialog.

    "# Terminates processes."
yes it does... the same cli applications that it launches specially when users click the "abort" button.

Now... can someone tell me what i can do to make them remove that info from their site? How does this kind of stuff work on USA?

I'm sorry to bring this here, but i really feel bad with this... it's something I do on my free time as a hobby, no profit at all, on the contrary and now I have my name attached to such "dirty stuff" from some jerks that never checked what they put in public?

please forgive my english and thank you,
    Rockas

  2. I would e-mail the Prevx people, they would be the only ones who can help.

Question on your app. I capture MPG files that contain Prologic surround info. I currently convert these into 2-channel AC-3 files, SFAIK the Prologic info is maintained. Does your app take the Prologic surround info int account when converting an MP2 or stereo WAV into a 6-channel AC-3?

This may be a run-around excercise with no real benefit, but if it is possible I would be interested. SFAIK it is possible to decode the stereo MP2 or WAV into 6 WAV files, but I'm not even certain of that.

  3. I used the contact form from their site... no answer until now.

DAudiok uses Directshow intput and uses AviSynth to frame serve the encodes.
Regarding your first question I will have to take a look if I can make it that way. Next release will acept any input files as long as you have a Directshow filter that can manage it.
You can test the result using AC3Filter to decode the MPEG audio and maybe setting the output to one of the "surround" options it has you can have a good result.
if that doesn't work... I can make some research, maybe there's a way of doing it.

as the second issue... you are not talking about 5.1 files as input, r u?
anyway... it wouldn't be that hard to make it as you want... AviSynth can make it. That's one interesting feature that I will add to the TODO list

Soon the ac3 encoding will be using Aften, at this point, QuEnc is used.
If you want to try the "surround" files encoding, please IM me your e-mail and I can send you a pre-release version.

    thank you
