hows it going everyone....Can someone who has used VEGAS inform me if this is possible. But I want to decrease the volume of one whole song during a particular time. Like for example, decrease it by -2 db in the middle of the song for like 10 seconds and fade it back to the original volume? Not decrease it to mute, but lower the volume? I dont know if it will or not, but all I can do is fade the song in or out completely from/to mute. Thanks guys.

yea sure -- very easy
see "insert/remove envelope" in manual
or right click on track and use "insert/remove envelope""Each problem that I solved became a rule which served afterwards to solve other problems." - Rene Descartes (1596-1650) -
yeah i just figured it out before coming back on here and looking at your response. I didnt see anyone help me so I just played around and got it to work. But yeah it has to do with the audio envelope and automation and blah blah...thanks though for the response.

You don't need to use automation. Just click on the audio track and press "V" to show the volume envelope. Then double click and drag to create and move points on the envelope. Also investigate Ctrl- & Alt-dragging of points (only move vert & horiz.), double-clicking of a point (returns it to zero) and also pressing "D" to switch to the envelope editing tool (will only move envelope points without moving the clip, by mistake, beneath the envelope curve).
