  1. Is there a way to convert VCD 1.1 to VCD 2.0?
Can I just drag the .dat file back into nero and burn to get a VCD 2.0 version or do I have to re-encode or something completely different?

no reencoding is required but you can convert the dat to mpg(www.vcdhelp.com/convertdat.htm it will not affect the quality) and then add it in nero...or try vcdeasy.

  3. Converted back to mpeg and reburnt with nero and it's still not VCD 2.0?
Why not and how do I get it to be?
Need to convert to to VCD 2.0 as it plays out of sync in one of my players unless its VCd 2.0

  5. Tried that baldrick and same. Actually the disc I'm trying says its DVCD not VCD 1.1 as I first thought. But still the same. Just reencoded a short 10 second burst and this seems a lot closer to being in sync.
Surely there's and easier way than re encoding all these 5 movies that I have acquired.
After reencoding with Tempenc disc now shows as VCD2.0, when just using VCDGear or VCDEasy it still shows as DVCD and is out of sync???
