  1. Hi.

    How can I save flash videos from sites around the internet?

    I'm asking how to do it, because there is some sites you can't save it using others sites, just like: http://keepvid.com/ or similar ones.

    In some cases, how to save and store such kind of videos on my PC?

    Any help or program that can handle that, will be nice.

    Thanks.

    You talk about flv format ?
    I have tried this one: http://www.videoscapture.com/ , i't's 'screen scrap' many website :
    (youtube,myspace ect...).
    If you need absolutly to get the video in flv format , in some case you will have to convert native (.avi,mpeg ...) file with a special program that let you do what tou want (resize , convert format ect ...)
    there is a free one around : VirtualDub

  3. Hi.

    Thanks for help.

    But... it doesn't work for my link.

    My sites are not listed in any database from that site. Nor " keepvid" site as well.

    Any more ideas?

    PS: using Fraps and other screen capture programs like that can "save" the video, but the results are not nice, because the images are in slow motion, losing the naturalitty of the video.

    Thanks again.

    Have you looked in the Tools section?

    Often, after watching a complete flv file, the file itself can be found in the temp internet files folder. In which case you can just copy it to another location.

    To save whatever video you've just watched on the internet the above post works 99% of the time:

    While your internet page is still open, and the video has fully loaded, open Windows Explorer and navigate to (for Win XP)

    C:\Documents and Settings\<your user name>\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files

    I usually click on the File Size header to sort by size and the videos are usually at the top if in descending sort order. Just copy the file to some other folder. You may have to add a file extension and you may want to rename the file to something that's meaningful.

  6. Thanks.

    Does it work !!

    But now, I guess that should be created a program that could grab, catch and convert it directly, instead having such work for saving files.

    Do you know some program that can catch such kind of Flash / FLV videos? ALL kind of them, I mean.

    PS: keep in mind, I'm talking about videos that "keepvid" and other similar sites that DOESN'T add it yet in their data base ( links) for dowloading. :P

    Any information about programs or some methods to catch these videos, will be nice.

    Best regards.

    Yes, there is a piece of software that works. I think its at www.moyea.com. I bought their FLV2Video product (works great, btw) and when I downloaded the new version the other day there was included a little app that grabs the internet video. I installed it and now when I go to a web page that has a video on it I get this little box that says 'Get It'. I can click it and it saves the video or I can click the 'x' in the box to cancel the action.

    I'm sure there's a plugin you can get for Firefox and/or Opera that makes it a fairly simple procedure, along the lines of Keepvid but not tied to a central webpage - acting instead in-place on whatever page you're looking at (a more sophisticated version of the cache-raiding method, which might not work if the stuff is set as non-cacheable or is far too huge to fit in there)

    Not sure on the name. Haven't run either of them for a while. Though with what I've read in the other thread about vulnerabilities in IE7, might be switching back soon, long program startup times, memory holes and wierd crashes be damned.

    Back after a long time away, mainly because I now need to start making up vidcapped DVDRs for work and I haven't a clue where to start any more!

    One place to start might be the sticky post at the top of this subforum: https://forum.videohelp.com/topic270338.html

    For Firefox, I'd primarily recommend the extensions Unplug and Ook? Video Ook!. There are others, and as long as you've got a decent system, you can install (at the same time) and use as many of them as you want with Firefox. Even Greasemonkey scripts.

  11. I'll try these program ( YouTube FLV to AVI Suite Enterprise ) and see if it's able to save FLV/Flash files from unusual sites:

  12. I've found these program below:

    ---> http://nuclear-coffee.com/php/products.php (videoget)

    ---> http://nuclear-coffee.com/php/supported_services.php?id=VideoGet

    Many sites are available for dowloading, including XXX ones.

    I'm wondering if I suggest them about some ones that aren't listed in data base program engine for downloading and if they will add it to their future request list. LOL.

    Thanks.

  13. Use Downloadhelper add-on in firefox. Just install firefox (free) and then install the add-on (free) and that's it! This add-on searchs for videos in the page and then you decide where to save them. You will not need to wait for the entire clip to download, so after deciding to save the clip you can go on and search in other pages (it creates a "queue" of downloads). Another great thing is that when saving you can change extension from .flv to .avi, or after the file has been saved, change the extension to .avi. No conversion is needed, no special flv player is needed, mediaplayer will play it.

    This add-on has worked for me in various sites that keepvideo and other sites, programs and/or add-ons had not worked. I've only used it for flv files, but might work for other formats.

    Last words: Don't ever pay for anything before trying all the free stuff that might be available!

    ---> http://www.downloadhelper.net/welcome.php?version=2.3.1

    I have agreed with this all too... :P

    But... just in case if you try that and can't donwload some other sites not listed in firefox plugin's, there are some other tools ( already mentioned before ) that can handle what Downloadhelper can't do it.

    Best regards.
