I have burned a dvd of home movies using imgburn.
Now, I need to go back and edit a clip of the dvd. I have extracted all of the files from the dvd to my hard drive using dvd decrypter.
After that, I tried using dvdx to convert the video_ts to mpeg format. The video came out perfectly, but the audio was choppy at best.
I then tried using AutoGK to convert the video_ts. This program gives me perfect video, but no sound at all.
The output file size is of no concern right now.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Rip all files with dvd decrypter.
Open the video_ts/vts_01_xx.ifo in AutoGK and convert to AVI. -
Perhaps you are one of those people with the mistaken impression that you MUST convert to AVI to edit. That is not true. Guns1inger's suggestion is excellent. Use VideoReDo or MPEGVCR to edit your video after you rip it. There is no need to convert to AVI just to edit the clip. Both VideoReDo and MPEGVCR allow you to try before you buy, so make the edits as you need with one of them and then convert the video (if you must) or re-author a new DVD.

( I assumed you wanted an avi....if you just want to edit dvds use tmpgenc dvd author!!!! Import from the dvd directly.
