    hi..i need some help.
    i convert dat to mpeg using vcdgear.
    the fisrt disc was great but i hve problem with disc 2.
    there is no sound at all.
    is there any other way..

    Have you played the disc to verify it actually has working audio?

    if you are not going to do anything but play the vcd, just change the file extension from .dat to .mpg and it will work in software players.

    actually i download the movie.
    it is in dat format and it have 2 files.
    i want to convert to mpg so it can play on my vcd player.
    i don't have problem to convert the first file.
    i have try to play the the second file on my computer..the audio is working.but when i convert to mpg ive got problem with the sound.
    what's wrong??

    After the conversion using VCDGear, does the mpeg have sound?

    yes,for the fisrt file only..i got no problem with it.
    but the second file still got no sound after i convert..
    i can only play it on my computer with the change of the file extension.

    If you play the MPEG from VCDGear in a player like VLC or mplayer, does it have sound?

    When you use VCDGear to convert .dat to MPEG, do you have the "Fix MPEG Errors" option checked?
    If cameras add ten pounds, why would people want to eat them?

    i convert the dat with the fix mpeg errors option and play it using vlc..but the sound still not appear.

    you could try demuxing - remuxing with a tool like the one included in old tmpgenc versions. it is in file/mpeg tools - the merge and cut option/mpeg-1 videoCD setting. only put the one file in there and let it rewrite the file. there was also a standalone version of mpeg tools.
