    New Safari Bug Reprt
although Safari will install on Windows 2000,
I discovered a big bug on that OS.
While Safari Beta works fine on XP and Vista to negotiate EBAY,
when installed under WIN 2K, the user is unable to sign into Ebay.
Attempts to sign in on 2K are met with crashes.
Thinking it was JAVA component that needed updating,
I surfed over to SUN MICROSYSTEMS, whose newest JAVA product startled me when it proclaimed
WINDOWS 2000 is no longer support by JAVA.
You may continue to install this latest JAVA, but don't bother us if it doesn't work!
anyhow, JAVA didn't fix the SIGN-IN bug under 2K

    on another front:
I already realize that Microsoft shot itself in the foot when it developed I.E 7
for XP and Vista alone..and post sp-2 systems only... a move that willl insure its market share will shrink next to firefox
    and now safari.

THAT imho is a big news (that Sun doesnt support Windows 2000 anymore).
Well, I can live without their buggy bloat anyways :P

    IE7
I said it the same day I read about "forthcoming" IE7 beta that MS is shooting itself in a foot by narrowing it to XP SP2 and upcoming Vista only :P
    And I said "GOOD!"
More mistakes like this and maybe for once better software prevails (instead of the better marketed)

I installed the latest Safari 3.0.2 in a virtual machine running W2K SP4 and most post patches. I'm also installed Sun Java 6.1.

This Virtual PC machine will run some software that does not work fine under Vista x64. So far it is great and I can even ply a DVD from within the virtual machine.

I will try eBay tonight in this environment.
