No, not enough information there. When you play the AVI with the external subs, through DirectVobSub (green arrow in the sys tray), do you see subs? If not, maybe the subs are corrupt. Where did you get the subs? From the DVD, or downloaded?

Before the encoding in AutoGK, did you run the Preview to see if there would be subs? Probably not. In what format are the subs? IDX/SUB, SRT, SSA, what? And how did you load the subs? Through the subs box in the main window, or did you follow Baldrick's guide here:

    https://forum.videohelp.com/topic316471.html

Did you check the "Forced Subs" box in Advanced Settings? And one last question, do you have the log for this encode?

    Hi,

    Sorry for the few info.

The subs arenīt external. It comes from the same DVD. When I load the DVD AutoGK gives me options to pick between several audios and subs (in step 2 in the software). I also run the preview and NO, the sub isnīt there.
I tried to use DVD decrypter. When I watch the movie from the hard drive the subs arenīt there either.

Is something missing in my computer?

  4. Hi-

I tried to use DVD decrypter. When I watch the movie from the hard drive the subs arenīt there either.

So, when played using PowerDVD or some such, there are no subs? When you decrypted using DVD Decrypter, you didn't go into Streams Processing and uncheck the subs, did you? You didn't do anything at all in Streams Processing, did you? And when you decrypted using DVD Decrypter, you got the entire movie in IFO Mode (not the default), didn't you? If not, decrypt over again. Then check in Streams Processing, or the Streams Processing.txt file it gives you to make sure there really are subs in the DVD to begin with.

Nothing is missing from your computer, I don't think. If the DVD has subs, they're supposed to show up when playing the DVD, and if you turn them on. If you just play a VOB as a file, then of course, you won't see any subs. There's a difference. You have to play the DVD to see subs, and not the VOB.

    Manono,

thanks man for trying to help me. I think Iīve got it figured. I tried another DVD movie and it works well. Only this particular DVD I canīt get subtitle from. Is this some kindda protection?

  6. No, nothing to do with protection. Maybe there just aren't any subs in that DVD. You might try something, and that's to get the subs outside of AutoGK and then load them following Baldrick's guide to which I linked 2 of my posts farther up. This assumes this DVD actually has subs. Do you get subs when playing in the standalone to your TV set? Is there a subtitles menu where you can choose to use the subs?

Do you know how to extract the subs yourself, the IDX/SUB format subs? If not, follow this guide:

    http://www.doom9.org/dvobsub.htm

First, install VobSub if you don't already have it, and open Configure.

Where it says to "Press open and specify the IFO from your movie", then you use the drop-down box to browse to the IFO for the movie, as the default is for IDX/SUB. If you're successful, open the IDX in notepad and make sure there are a bunch of timestamps, each one corresponding to a line of dialog. You can read the dialog, to make double sure you got the subs and that they're in the right language, by opening the IDX in SubResynch (also included in the VobSub package), and when you highlight each line, you can see what it says. If you still can't get subs, you might look around in the subtitles sites to see if there's one for your movie and your language.
