    hi

i have a canon xm2 camcorder and i'm trying to find a way of recording a set and small no of frames so that i can create a (very bad!) animated movie with some characters that my child has made for school.

    any ideas?

maybe my camera isn't up to scratch?

Very few video cameras are capable of taking single frames. You are probably better off using a still camera on a tripod and taking a series of stills to pull together. The net effect will be the same, but you will have greater control.

That is exactly how the recent Corpse Bride was filmed, (31 Canon EOS-1Ds MARK II SLR cameras with Nikon Lenses).
