when i create a dvd with 2.5 i can see vertical lines, these are not there when I use 2.1. I have tried various xvids and the outcome is the same with all of them, lines on 2.5, none on 2.1

I have also tried this on another pc(clean install with xp and then vista x32) and a laptop and the same happens

  10. I had this when testing the beta with some US TV shows. I notice the latest version has latest ffmpeg - was that to improve this issue?

I am still getting the lines with the new build, tried it with a new xvid this morning. 2.1 coverts the file with no lines

  12. I'm left my PC encoding three separate videos from different sources. Did you use 1 or 2 pass?

  18. Was it an NTSC or PAL source? Mine were NTSCs. Have run some PAL & NTSC tests today using 1-pass. Would 2-pass make a difference?

    Hey guys,

This issue was not something that I was aware of until you flagged it... (too much time programming - not enough time chilling in front of my TV!) BUT it has been solved now. Thanks for the heads-up and the correspondence offline - which has enabled me to address it.

Please can you download the latest version and confirm this has gone away?

ChrissyBoy thanks for your time on this, one of the reasons I like svcd2dvd is the great support

It shouldn't be - maybe there is an issue with your source file... Have you tried others?

The following registry patch will speed it up, if you feel speed is more important than quality...

  26. Thanks ChrissyBoy but I'd rather stick with higher quality! It does appear to be slower though compared to 2.1 with the same source video? Short of doing a timed test, is there anyway to see the actual fps in 2.1?

  28. I completed a 1-pass test with the new 2.5 + speed patch and it all looked and worked great! Do you have an un-patch so I can test the quality more between the two?

Just delete the FFMPEGDEFAULTS key from HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Badger I.T.\SVCD2DVD 2.5

and then you will be back to the default.... Apply the reg file and you will be back to the "speed up"...
