I've copied the individual files (VTS_01_1.VOB, etc.) to my hard drive, and am trying to add them as media clips to a project.
The video plays fine, but there's no audio.
I've posted this query on other forums, and the only advice I've received is a cryptic "install the ac3filter" with no additional information forthcoming.
Has anyone encountered and/or overcome this problem?

Well, just discovered something odd about the VOB files.
If I add VTS_01_1.VOB, I get no audio.
However, if I add *any* other iteration (i.e., VTS_01_2.VOB, VTS_01_3.VOB, etc.), the audio plays just fine.
Huh!?! -
Oh, and I forgot to mention that the VTS_01_1.VOB file plays fine in Windows Media Player, so there goes my thought that maybe the audio portion of the file was in some way defective.

Premiere Elements is all about getting your DV camcorder video to DVD. Newer versions also support getting your miniDVD, hard disk MPeg2 or HDV /AVCHD camcorder files to DVD with mixed success. Where did you get the impression Premier Elements could rip a commercial DVD?

Thanks for the input, although I'm not clear on how that's any help in my particular situation. -
