    ok, i had just recently gotten sony vegas 7 and when im trying to view a clip to find a part in it that i would need but the video would play choppy on the screen and this happens even worse on the timeline. is there anyway to stop this from happening?

  2. Just curious...Have you asked this at the Sony Vegas forum?

    Of the top of my head, I think it might have to do with the amount of ram you have allocated for previews. I think if you adjust the amount one way or the other it may help. I want to say try adjusting it down first.

    If those are you real specs then I suspect they answer your question. Not enough ram, not enough HDDs, and too slow a CPU.

    Try setting the preview mode to Draft (Auto) and see how it looks - it will be small and blocky though.

    also it may be a really compressed format source you are using -- convert it to something more compatible first
