  1. I have a ASF file of a Madonna Concert broadcast over MSN last year. The quality is really good so I figured I could either make a AVI or MPEG-II file out of it to burn on DVD-R or VCD at a later date. I tried to use TMPGEnc, however when I start to encode it with the VCD template it says remaining time is like 3 days. Is this usual for ASF files?

  2. Get this freeware tool from http://www.geocities.com/myasftools/. Use it to help in the conversion of your file. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. Use a version of virtual dub to convert the file to .avi.

  3. Hey Damnim, thanks alot! I did try this program, but for some reason after it converts to AVI it tells me that the file is WVM7 and the AVI might not play correctly. When I try to play the AVI back in Windows Media player it tries to download the codec, and after it downloads the codec it says file type unsupported. When I try to and the AVI into TMPGEnc it also claims the file unsuported. think it's because it's in a unusual aspect ration. Not 19:9 not 4:3.
