Hi,
I have two problems with the subtitles in a fansub-movie (MKV-format).
1. The font is stretched and sometimes even runs out of the picture.
2. If more than one character speaks (like a character speaks and a tv runs in the background), the subtitles overlay each other, making them unreadable.
Is there anything I can do to fix this?

What are you using to play the MKV, and display the subtitles? You can try adjusting the font/font size to see if that'll help with the run-off problem.

Thanks for your answer.
I'm using VLC Media Player to play movies, and never had problems with subtitles before.
I now extracted the subtitles from the movie, and the configuration of the subtitles is like this:
Code:[V4+ Styles] Format: Name, Fontname, Fontsize, PrimaryColour, SecondaryColour, OutlineColour, BackColour, Bold, Italic, Underline, StrikeOut, ScaleX, ScaleY, Spacing, Angle, BorderStyle, Outline, Shadow, Alignment, MarginL, MarginR, MarginV, Encoding Style: Main01,Ace,37,&H00FFFFFF,&H00FF0000,&H00000000,&H96000000,-1,0,0,0,100,100,0,0,1,1.7,1,2,10,10,15,0 Style: Narration,Ace,37,&H00FFFFFF,&H0000FFFF,&H00000000,&H96000000,-1,0,0,0,100,100,0,0,1,1.7,1,2,10,10,15,0 Style: TV,Arial,32,&H00FFFFFF,&H0000FFFF,&H00000000,&H96000000,-1,0,0,0,100,100,0,0,1,1.7,1,8,10,10,15,0 Style: in-roman,Agenda,32,&H00FFFFFF,&H00E9DCA6,&H002A2919,&H002A2919,-1,0,0,0,100,100,0,0,1,1,0,7,12,10,2,0 Style: in-engli,Agenda,32,&H00FFFFFF,&H00E9DCA6,&H002A2919,&H002A2919,-1,0,0,0,100,100,0,0,1,1,0,7,12,10,28,0 Style: Credits,Goulong,28,&H00FFFFFF,&H0000FFFF,&H00000000,&H00000000,0,0,0,0,95,87,0.3,0,1,0,0,2,10,10,10,0 Style: Cast,Goulong,28,&H00FFFFFF,&H0000FFFF,&H00000000,&H00000000,0,0,0,0,95,87,0.3,0,1,0,0,1,30,30,30,0
I attached the complete subtitle file to this post. You can open it with any text editor, like Notepad. Maybe there is soemthing wrong with the subtitle file?

Did you change the font within the subtitle file, or VLC's options?
If you're extracting the subtitle stream and replacing it, you can also try using a format that doesn't include font information... like .srt. I don't know if you can mux .srt streams into an MKV, but you probably can. I'm not sure if certain formats are preferred with MKVs.If cameras add ten pounds, why would people want to eat them?
