  1. I need to set up my two printers (HP LaserJet 4--parallel; Epson R200--USB) on my new Vista PC, which will be connected to my home network via my Hawking HPS 12U print server. The print server is plugged into my Lynksys hard-wired router. Two other existing PCs already are connected to this network and can access the above printers. I have forgotten the steps to set up the printers with this print server, and hoped to avoid a call to tech support of you folks can step in here. I downloaded the new Vista print server software from the Hawking web site, but have not installed it because I am not even sure that I need it. I tried to set the HP up last night from memory, but I did not configure it correctly and cannot even delete the printer from the printer list now, so I don't want to experiment any further. Can anyone guide me through these steps, please?

  2. Not real keen on Hawking products, but print servers usually all work the same.

The print server should assign an IP address to each printer, you install the printer on the PC and then create a new port for the IP address, and print to that port. The print server should have a built-in web page where you can determine what these addresses are.

Gah, I read this thinking that the OP was referring to a 12U rackmounted print server. I just had to see what they were talking about. Seems it's just a model # rather than a hulking piece of hardware?
