Hi, I have multiple video files (AVI) that i want to be able to play as DVD. I tried DVD Flick and ConvertXtoDVD, but both gave errors in playback (not due to my standalone player or media. I make dvd backups and they always play perfectly fine). I think the errors are due to the varying and non-standard aspect ratios of the .avi files. I've used this guide to re-encode the files and chose the CCE program: https://forum.videohelp.com/topic222898.html
Now i have the files and am having a hard time finding software to get them into dvd format. I rather liked the simplicity of ConvertXtoDVD's authoring etc, being able to just choose an image and quickly type out the title names.. I'm after high quality video but do not care much about the appearance of the DVD menus etc. Can someone please recommend me a program that will allow me to author using the files i now have that is simple? Or maybe there is some way to open the files with ConvertXtoDVD even? I tried to open the files with said program and it did not see them.
The files i have now are:
movie.vaf
movie.mpa
movie.mpv
Thanks for any advice.

Mpv is MPEG-1 video, is this intentional?
He's a liar and a murderer, and I say that with all due respect. -
Thanks for the reply. I think so. This is the last paragraph is the guide involving Cinema Craft Encoder.
"We should now be ready to encode. Click the ENCODE NOW button, or click OK, and then click the ENCODE button. When you encode is finished, CCE should have proceded an MPV or M2V file, and if your audio was NOT AC3, it should have produced an MPA audio file as well. These can be imported into your DVD Authoring application of choice."
I just don't know what Authoring application to use at this point, that will allow me to author using those files. -
mpv is for elementary mpeg files. both 1 and 2
m1v for 1, m2v for 2.
CCE and mainconcept output elementary mpeg2 with the mpv extension.
Delete the vaf file. (cce video information file)
it's served it's purpose.
For fully compliant dvd you need a dolby audio stream.
In which case it's better to go to uncompressed pcm wav,
and then encode to ac3 with say encwav2ac3.
Authoring
what won't?
Use dvdauthorgui or muxman.

Or for payware, TMPGEnc DVD Author is one of the easiest authoring programs to use. And it will accept elemental audio and video streams. I mostly use ffmpeggui to convert to AC3, but there are several programs that do it. AC3 saves a lot of space over WAV or PCM audio. I don't use CCE for audio encoding.
And welcome to our forums.
