Hi, I am getting this message on starting svcd2dvd its version 2.1 on windows xp, I have tried reinstalling but it hasnt worked

Looks like you don't have the filters required to play a mpeg1 file in windows media player... To confirm can you play the splash.mpg file in the SVCD2DVD folder in WMP?

If you install v2.5 from the registered users area it should solve the problem or you could install something like ffdshow or some other mpeg1/2 dshow filter to resolve the issue.

I have tried 2.5 but when I encode a xvid to dvd I get vertical lines. I reverted back to to 2.1 and encoded the same xvid with no problems

I can play mpeg1 and 2 through media player 11 but not the splash screen I get this error in media player 11 error C00D11B1

well that fact that wmp11 can play the splash is the reason for the error. Maybe ffdshow would resolve that for you.

i have ffdshow on the system and gspot says the codec is there to playback the splash screen, plus media player classic plays the splash screen, so it looks like it may be a fault on media player 11 that is causing the problem
