Subject says it all. Recently I have downloaded a homemade DVDR which, when played, presents a couple of clips before proceeding to the menu. This works fine with WinDVD, both off the harddrive and off a burned disc. However, when I play it in a real DVD player, the thing fails to get past one of the pre-menu clips. It gets stuck in a loop. And unfortunately, these clips are tagged as being non-skipable, so there is literally no way to force a real DVD player to get to the menu or the actual video content of the DVD.

I don't want to watch this DVD on my PC. So I'm looking for a way of performing a simple edit to the DVD which will cause it to either not access those pointless pre-menu clips or at least allow the user to access the menu from them.

I thought this would be a pretty straightforward thing but it seems that DVD Lab Pro, at least, doesn't allow one to access any project except its own proprietary files. I wouldn't know what else to try.

    Any help? Thanks. ;p

pgcedit can maybe work with you situation

Jump to PGC upon dvd insert - http://download.videohelp.com/r0lZ/pgcedit/third_party/blutach/How_to_use_PgcEdit_new_macro.htm

You trace to the main menu so it will skip those clips. Although tracing will require to go through the clips. So maybe if you can highlight the clips(you don't want) to the left in pgcedit, right-click and kill pgc playback.

Alrighty. Made the edit and am fixing to burn a fresh DVDR. Looks like it worked perfectly.

This is why I love these forums.
