I found that I have the same problem as BOSTON 1 with eDonkey2000, also I downloaded the Monsterball.zip file from the link on this site, and the File wont even open. It says that it has a Bad CRC. I tried to open it with Winzip 8.1 and Win RAR. Is there somethin special about this file that I don't know.

ToxicWes,
Try Demuxing the audio File and converting it to uncompressed PCM and then try to convert the wav to mpeg by choosing it as the source when you go to encode the movie. A faster way after you uncompress the audio is to reencode just the audio for VCD compliance and then remux the audio with the Video.
Hope this helps! -
I'm surprised you got Royal tenenbaums encoded. was it the ts version or esoteric screener?

Boston1, I got the mpg screener from edonkey with no problems.
I am a happy camper. -
Ok guys i'm new here and i'm new in all this vcd burning stuff, all the versions of tmpg i tried does not let me open video course, it says can't open or unsupported, so i downloaded tmpg 12a and that one let me open the video source, but it does not let me change anything, let's say i need NTSC and settings are for pal and i can't change it, can you give me a hand with this?

Well, i see the old TMPGEnc 12a worked for everyone, i'm glad to hear, i'd also recommand getting the Kristal Studio Codecs instead of the DivX 4.12, it is the only thing I got installed at work, and it opened all the files without a problem.
nerka75, you shouldn't have any problem to use any Template from those that come with the newer TMPGEnc, just load an NTSC Template instead of the PAL one, and you can also use the unlock.mcf Template to make changesEmail me for faster replies!

I have also had similar probs with an "avi" file. It was indeed an asf renamed to avi. When trying to encode with TMPGEnc it would simply lock up and no longer encode. After tryin many diff things i figured out it was the audio in the file causing probs. To correct this i first encoded ONLY the VIDEO in TMPGEnc. Then using Windows Media Encoder i encoded only the SOUND from the clip to .WMA. Then i used dBPowerAMP Music converter (found in tools on this site) i converted the .WMA file to .MP3, and finally remultiplexing the 2 files in TMPGEnc. This method worked for me fine.
I hope this helps somehowmost ppl say somethin smart or profound here.......... I won't -
I cant figure out in Windows media encoder how to only extract the audio - any tips?
-
well, Windows Media Encoder does not recognize any of those asf/avi type files(royal T, Ali, Black hawk down) - when I input them I get the error message "invalid or corrupt format" - but it can't be, because it plays in Windows Media Player - what am I doing wrong?

i know this is off topic, but i tried eDonkey myself. for some reason my internet connections crash when i use it. i get the typical 'page not found' on everything i bring up. there isnt much eDonkey support on the site or anything like that so I thought i would try my luck where I found OUT about eDonkey. it looks great and i really wanna download stuff, but my net stops working......
