Help With Vegas

Help required with sony vegas.

I require some assistance, on masking a picture ontop of a video file in vegas.

I am currently working on superman.

What i would like to do, is a mostion clip, with a picture of superman shield cut out and a clip playing through the picture,covering up the rest of the video.

Is this possible to do, any informtion on how to do this. I would be very gratefule, as i am a newbie to do this.

Simplest way is to take your still into photoshop or paintshop pro, cut out the superman logo so you have a transparent section in the still, and save as a .png file to preserve the transparency. Drag this to a timeline above your video and you should be able to see through the transparent sections.
