  1. Ok I have a Creative Zen Vision. it plays a lot of videos but can be pretty picky sometimes.

I have this divx file that it will not play. it says divx not supported but then lists DIVX as supported. Note I typed that carefully it SEEMS its only problem is that the fourCC descriptor has DIVX as divx in lower case and this is enough for it to reject it ???

    this is what Vdub shows

here is the error I get
    http://www.nerys.com/stuff/odderror.jpg

it literally says the video codec 'divx' is not supported and then says DIVX is supported.

SO I just want to ALTER this file so divx says DIVX and see what happens (its too low res to reconvert)

I found a program called avic that appears to do exactly what I need. It does not. it DOES alter something in the file because when I close it and open it and reload the file it SHOWS the new fourCC code I put in the last time

but Creative still rejects it with the same error and Vdub still shows it as

So how do I change that information ??

    Suggestions ?
