I'm completely new at this and having problems converting an XviD with AC3 audio with WinAVI.
The XviD decoder is set as "XviD MPEG-4 Video Decoder" and the AC3 decoder is "AC3 Filter." Under audio setting I have audio bitrate set to 192000 and encode mode as AC3 with Enable DirectAC3 checked.
When I convert the avi file to DVD format, the audio is off by several seconds. When I convert an avi with MP3 audio to DVD, it works fine. I can't figure out what's wrong, can anyone help me out?

The only way to solve problems with WinAVI is to stop using it, and to use something better (which is pretty much anything)
Free options include DVD Flick, or doing it manually with FitCD/Avisynth/HCEnc/GUIForDVDAuthor
The best non-free option is ConvertXtoDVDRead my blog here.
