  1. So I tried opening that file that you uploaded in Quicktime and for some stupid reason Quicktime isn't even loading...I am able to upload my videos still directly to Youtube and play and view everything just fine but WMM will not let me transfer anything to it except the pictures...this is just unbelievable.

matthewdenn, I don't really understand your last 2 posts...

You would NOT want to try just clicking on the clip expecting it to open in QT. It wouldn't. It's an AVI and some other AVI app (like WMP) would probably be the thing to try and open when double-clicking.

You WOULD want to start Quicktime and Open the file from within QT (may need to wait for it to highligh the "Convert" button first--I know mine did).

    >>>>edit: you would want to first DL/save the uploaded file to your own HD<<<<

From what you wrote, I can't tell if your installation of QT is corrupted or not (shouldn't be).

    AFA the Youtube/WMM thing,
WMM doesn't "transfer" files (except DV streams to and from the DV cam). It saves/exports them. You should save/export to somewhere local on your own HD, then use IE/Firefox/etc. to upload to Youtube.

  4. I understand that WMM doesn't transfer the files, what I meant was that I am able to transfer the files to Youtube in a format which Youtube understands, so I don't understand why WMM doesn't recognize them; it did before. I used to use WMM just to edit and make transitions/titles etc but now I have to just straight upload and have no editing capability.

    ???
    Which files?
    quasi-QT flavored, BMP-formatted and AVI-wrapped files?
I doubt WMM would ever have been able to work with them.
DV? WMM works fine with those (they're just a little too big for Youtube though).

I'm guessing the "them" that you used to be able to work with is different than the "them" that you're trying to work with now.

You're losing me (try to be more specific, detailed, etc)...

  6. What I meant by the WMM comment was that I used to be able to use the program just fine before I reverted back to Windows XP from Windows Vista Ultimate. I can still upload video, but I have to take the video direct from a program such as WinTV2000, which I use for my video capture through the VCR or Cable, and directly upload it to Youtube just fine. But I want the ability to edit my videos back. I don't understand why Youtube takes the files just fine but WMM repeatedly can't comprehend the format that they are in. I downloaded QT and reinstalled it like 4 times and it won't even launch, I don't know if it was a corrupt download or what the deal with that was. I am getting very desperate with this and I am thinking about just buying a low end Video Editor besides WMM to see if they can understand the files. Any recommendations?
