I'm new to the forum and looking for a new dvd recorder, I need it to have a coax audio output and would really like one with a hard drive if there's a decent one out there.
Currently I have a Sony DVD recorder and it works great other than it randomly flashes the channel bar at the top of my screen while watching cable, pretty annoying. Works fine for watching dvds though.
Thanks for the help

There are inexpensive external devices that change optical audio to coaxial or the reverse. I bought one at Radio Shack a few years ago for about $15. They don't have it any more but there should be other brands available at online sites or through eBay. This can eliminate your need for the coaxial output.
Meanwhile, I recall that many Toshiba recorders had coaxial audio out. I don't know about what is currently available.
