  1. Hi, Its been a while since ive worked with any new fancy video features but ive been wondering how alot of them videos/movies get thoes 2 to 6 video screens on one screen at the same time.
Ide like to split up some wedding videos i have and put some 2 to 4 or so divided screens on some instances so i could fit it all on one session.

Been searching around and cant find the correct term for it (video masking?) so im wondering if someone could tell me what software could do this.

Also, would it be by video editing or could it be done by dvd authoring (or whichever)?.

    Thanks in advance.

Do you mean split-screen like the Brady Bunch opening (simultaneous playback of multiple sources in a grid-like fashion)?

With some fancy (and maybe not-so fancy) scripting, AviSynth probably has the answer to what you're seeking.

A combination of StackHorizontal() and StackVerticle() in AviSynth along with a resize filter will give you the effect you're looking for. Just make sure when resizing that you maintain the correct aspect ratio.

  4. Nearly any editor (even the cheap ones) will give you some sorta scale/position option. All you need to do is change those values on the clip. Scale/position many clips to fit where you want them.
