tv/remote is locked!!!??? only power button works!?

my roomates APEX UK2A-C1 dvd/tv combo unit is all off a sudden locked.

im not sure how it happened, i just found it that way one day.

but the only thing that works is the power button on the remote, and we cant use it for anything at all.

the only thing that it does is show a little picture of a lock if u press any button.

i searche dgoogle but cant find anything

Try the APEX support forum for any similar issues. Sometimes these remotes can get screwy if doused in water accidentally (as happened to my son's remote!) or left near a high heat source.

I took my son's remote apart and cleaned it thoroughly with alcohol and a cotton swab, allowed the individual pieces to dry for a day then reassembled the entire mess. Once I replaced the batteries, viola! It has worked for 4 months and counting so far, and nothing quirky has happened with it since.
