converting avi to wmv in wme9...incorrect parameter?

I am trying to convert vob files to wmv to play on my daughter's media player. I used Ripit4me and the changes the vob files to an avi using vob2mpg. (wme crashed when I tried to use vob files). I keep getting an error message, The parameter is incorrect. (0x80070057). I have read a bit about codecs but I'm not sure that I understand. Is there a way for me to ever get wme9 to work or is there other software recommended?

VOB2MPG doesn't reencode VOB to AVI - it just extracts the MPG out of the VOB.
Try WMM...

Sorry, I used Super to convert. I followed instructions from someone who posted on how to get vob files to wmv. Got as far as wme9 and then keep getting the error...

Really, VOB files have no place on earth other than on a Video DVD - What can or can't be done with them is random. They are not "media" files in the same manner as AVI or mpg.
Maybe you should try VOB2MPG - mpg is a "real" media format, (even if it too is an "end" format) and may lend itself better to further conversions.
