Aargh, here we go again. I don't have a .wav file. I only have the initial video file. Do I need to extract the audio?

Try Ulead Video Studio or Movie Maker, both have a free trial so it won't hurt. You should be able to import your original file directly, convert and burn. I have some old DV material here with the same audio you have and their better applications handles it no problem.

Thanks coalman, I'll get onto that. Thanks again.

Stars, I used the programme you suggested and it has an option to extract the audio from a video file, shall I just use that?

Sync'ing video to audio is difficult. Why not let Video Studio handle it?

Right I am doing that, it said the file is different or something, I'm not sure, so it made a copy, and is now upsampling that one. We'll see.....

When somebody needs a quick DVD out of his camcorder I always use Ulead DVD Movie Factory. It captures directly in MPEG2 and it's simple and easy to use. You can edit the file, build a menu, chapters etc. Never had any problem with it. You can use the presets or build your own /if you know what you're doing/.
If you want the maximum possible quality /not that the one you'll get from DVDMF is bad/ then the procedure is longer and more complicated.
Also I've had good results capturing directly in MPEG2 wit Main Concept but depending on your knowledge it's more complicated than DVDMF.

    Good luck!

I wasn't even aware that I would have to sync it. I'm no expert on these things. By programs do you mean the ones coalman suggested, if so, I will try those as well.

well if you extract the audio from the DV file and upsampel the audio to 48kHz and then convert it
to DD2.0 (.ac3). Then even the video stream is converted to mpeg2 (VBR)....

Yes there can be sync problems, but if you use the right programs you will end up with a timeline
difference approx 1/10 sec or less...this is not a problem...

So the sync is not an issue here but it can be if something is going wrong..

Oh well, that didn't work. The program extracted the audio and made a copy of it, upsampled it 48000hz, and it still had the slow-motion sound. I'm out of ideas TBH...

I have just got ulead video studio 11. Is there any way of inserting an already captured video file into the dv-to-dvd wizard? I see no option other than to completely re-capture.

I just tried SUPER (build 22), and it looks very easy to use, I did all the settings, and then looked around only to find there is no encode option.....I feel ready to throw the computer outside now.
3rd button up on bottom left of screen ' encode active files'

if you don't see it, you have your screen resolution set to low

set your desktop display properties for at least 1024*768 or even Higher
