I have a copy of some home movies I had put on a VCD before I even owned a computer
and now that my kids have left home they would like a copy, The problem is the guy has went out of business and the cd won't play in my computer only in my dvd player.

Any help or ideas would be great.

    Thanks in advance.

  2. Windows won't automatically play VCD. You probalby just need a VCD player. You could try a program like Media Player Classic or VLC.

You don't need to be able to play the VCD to copy it. If you have Nero Burning ROM or some CD/DVD burning application you should be able to use the Copy Disc function.

How old are the disk.? They could have corrupted because of age. Burnable media can go bad over time. You might be able to extract the files with a program like isobuster. You can try a trial download from their website.

  5. There are ways to make copying a VCD difficult. There are also ways of getting around them. Google VCD COPY PROTECTION or start here: https://www.videohelp.com/faq#copyprotect
