  1. Ok, I have an ADS MiniTV Usb Tuner/Capture card. The link to my card is here:
    http://www.adstech.com/products/PTV-371-EF/intro/PTV-371-EF_intro.asp?pid=PTV-371-EF

I am running Vista Ultimate x32. I have the correct drivers installed as it shows normal in device manager. If I try and open any capture program (ie, Windows Media Encoder). The device is not listed as an option for an Audio Input device, as it was with XP MCE 2005.
Since it is a usb capture card, it does its own sound processing, so it should be listed as an audio device, but is not.

Also, WME won't even show video, instead showing an error saying "The parameter is incorrect".

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,
    Nickolas

You might take a look at this from the ADS site: http://www.adstech.com/KB/(0swx1nf3jbvx2355xnfox345)/KB_DisplayKBAnswerDetail.aspx?error=FALSE&KB_ID=20 824&path=topten

You might check in there and see if they come up with a solution. I would also ask your question there. The more input they have, the more likely they will come up with some solutions.

You of course followed the general install correctly ?

If not , uninstall all packages associated with the device , and reboot .

The method I always use for capture devices .

Its install the package (some will install the drivers as well)
    Shut pc down (remove power)
    Install device
Restart pc (pc detects device , and may ask for drivers package once more)
Restart pc once more , after device has been succesfully installed

Audio , double click on system volume icon , master volume properties
Options , properties , sellect recording , above - change "mixer device" to that from usb device , then in box below , check usb recording device listed , click ok , done .

Mind you , the audio through such a device will be crap , best through line-in on sound card .

From there on in its up to the device drivers if its going to work properly .
