    How to Make a Pioneer DVR-520H Region 1 a Region Free player? I only found info for region2 players any suggestions?

    If it ended like a region 4 will do for me too. Is it possible to load a region4 firmware ina region1 one?

    I suggest that you ask HKan at pioneerfaq.info . . . but I suspect that messing with the region firmware is going to be a risky proposition. You might be better off making region-free copies on your computer, for playback wherever. Also, using the Pioneer recorder as a player (any more than is necessary) is going to detract from the service life of the burner. For this reason, many of us prefer to do the majority of our routine playback on another unit that is a standalone player only.
