I converted my avi file to quicktime using apple mpeg codec. I see weird colours when I watch it. here's a screenshot http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g13/chibi-pucca/title.gif
I tried other codecs and they don't show those funny colour so why does apple mpeg the only codec that shows weird colours?

Most likely its the tool you are using for the conversion or the mpeg codec you are using isn't completely compatible with your version of QT. Does the mpeg file play normally in another player?

Those look like data glitches, meaning you were doing stuff on the computer while it encoded (playing games, downloading videos, looking online, etc). I see these sort of errors all the time, from the "I can do whatever I want while I capture or download" people.
