FHV video, how to burn it

now, i can backup the files to my PC, but they are in .TOD format

what the hell is .TOD???? ive never seen it b4

i can go to edit the videos on my PC, which copies them to my PC as mpeg files, and they are roughly the same size, so im guessing wen it puts it to my PC in mpeg format, it doesnt lose quality???

any help will be appreciated

It's most likely a proprietary format used by the camcorder. And there is most likely a loss of quality after conversion to mpeg, especially if the files are the same size. But that is to be expected, especially since the DVD format doesn't support HD. All you really need now is a DVD authoring program to ensure the files meet dvd specs and get them in the proper format.

This is a special case camcorder. Use the software that shipped with it.

It is intended for Blu-Ray authoring.

I haven't used their software but it probably transfers and may allow conversion to normal MPeg2. Id call JVC support. Little is known about this camcorder.

According to JVC, the top format is the result of copyright issues.. Which means that it actually is an mpg-file.. just rename it and it will work just fine... Yeah
