    Hey guys,
first of all, this forum REALLY helps a lot.

Second of all, I wanted to ask you what is the standard configuation (mainly Video Size, BitRate, FrameRate, audio, etc.) when I am converting VOBs to Dv that I want to edit with iMovie HD.
Any other configuration items that I need to make sure are alright to match the iMovie video?

I forgot to mention that I am mixing footage from a DVD (VOBs) with footage of my own camera that I important straight to iMovie. Videos of the same even shot by different people. One of the people actually recorded their part straight on a DVD, no miniDV tape like I did.

    Thanks guys!

In the Summary tab, under Target format, you may select the Quick Presets (). When selecting the DV preset, all paramaters are set for compliancy.

    Thanks for the reply.
On 1 of the VOB the size was 16:9 when I chose to: DV format(can't remember right now, I'm not on the same computer), on hte otehr VOB it said 3:2 or something... even though they were from the same DVD movie (from the same DVD I had 3 VOBs).
I'll go back to my friends house (where I was using FFmpegX and get teh correct info.. but there is somethign wrong there...

DVD VOBs and DV files are either 16:9 or 4:3, no other options there. If you know the set aspect ration to be wrong, then you can change it.

A DVD can have both 16:9 title sets (e.g. a main feature) and 4:3 title sets (e.g. extras). But VOBs from the same title set should have the same aspect ratio.
I think iMovie wants all video on a given project to have a single aspect ratio, tho', so if you really have a mix of 16:9 and 4:3 content (i.e. it's not a software error) then you may need to pillarbox the 4:3 content.
