Yes, Win2k is the best OS ever made bij M$!
Practically all applications I need for video-editing work perfectly well under W2K. And for the odd exeption I installed Virtual PC 2004, which is available free from M$. Installing WinXP there is simple & reliable. VPC-2004 has a steep learning curve, but once you know how to handle it, it works like a charm. Main advantage: after installing programs and playing around with them and then decide you don't like them afterall: you can always go back.
The best of both worlds!

The reason XP doesn't do this is because Microsoft removed Active Desktop. This was considered a major security risk, so they dropped it.Originally Posted by dcsos
You can still make folders display movie previews but you have to change a security setting in the registry and add some special system files to the folders you want to display the movie previews. I have it set up like that on my XP laptop.
If anyone is interested, I'll cobble together a guide on how to do it. -
I was just poking around on the AutoPatcher site and noticed that Movie Maker was on a recent update for Win2K Pro. I don't use it that often but it has come in handy on a few occasions.Originally Posted by liquid217

Version 1.2 was an "add-on" in the recent May core update for Win2K Pro SP4.Originally Posted by winifreid
