I have got this problem after i reinstalled my pc after a crash.

I cant open Wav files in Tmpgenc anymore, every time it says :
"wav file" can not open, or unsorported.

The wav file can be played in a player with no problems.
The wave files are either from VirtualDub or converted with goldwave.
Im using the free 2.524.63.181 version.
I have tried fidling with the vfapi settings but nothing helps.
I also don't have any problems when opening avi files with wav sound.
I have tried on 3 computers and its the same on all of them.
I have tried changing codec pacs, tried the newest CCCP and klcodec.

I hope somebody can help, im lost

WAV doesn't really need a separate codec, it's uncompressed and Windows should be able to read it natively. My first thought is that you may have something other that a pure WAV file. Such as a different audio format wrapped in a WAV container. VirtualDub can do that if you save out a audio as a WAV and don't set the compression to 'none' and don't use full audio processing.

    More about WAV: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WAV

But that's just a guess. And I hope you haven't damaged your system by adding codec packs. Removing the mess they can create is much harder than installing them.

    And welcome to our forums.

    Thanks for the answer.

I have found the problem ( i think, may be something other wrong )

When i converted the AC3 to Wav with goldwave i used 32 bit signed PCM, but it seems that Tmpgenc dosent like 32bit ( or just mine ), if i convert it to 16 bit signed instead, tmpgenc eats it just fine.

Im not sure if its only my tmpgenc that dosent like 32 bit wav or all.
