Hdmi ??

Hello, my tv has only one hdmi input.
what kind of splitter do i need to do the following.

I want to be able to connect my dvd(it has hdmi) to the tv.
and also connect the comcast box to it.

Perhaps yours is different, but my Comcast cable box only has a DVI connector. If yours is like that, you'll need something to convert DVI to HDMI because the device Des mentioned won't help you with DVI.
Various devices are available that can convert between DVI and HDMI and they aren't expensive.

He either has a 6412 Phase III or a 3412, both of which have HDMI.

You most likely have a Phase II box (like I do ), which had DVI but not HDMI:

Be aware that unless these boxes are fully HDCP compliant, they won't work with future HD DVD or HD Servers. If the "Broadcast Flag" passes Congress in the USA, HDCP will be also required for receive high def resolutions off digital broadcast, cable or sat.

I'd go with a passive switch for now. If you go active insist on a money back guarantee if it won't pass HDCP.
