  1. hi
    i have an avi file with subtitles in a .srt file. when i watch the movie the subtitles are shown with the formatting.

    this is how it looks in the movie

    <font color="#ffffff">The Civil War is over.</font>
    and it's exactly the same in the .srt file. how do i fix this?
    will i have to go through the .srt file and edit every single lyric? i've tried messing around with the subtitle settings in that taskbar icon with the green arrow but it doesnt work

    You can use a tool to strip / remove all html tags(the <font>,[i],etc),
    http://www.zubrag.com/tools/html-tags-stripper.php (copy and paste everything from your srt)

    or google for strip tags for more methods.

  4. yeah that one stripped the html but it seems that it striped something else required for it to be erm "subtitle format"

    I didn't realize how old these posts are!

    It's funny. SRTWiz wouldn't work for me but Zurbrag nailed it. Baldrick knows his stuff.
