Hi guys. I've been trying to rip a movie (The 39 Steps) onto my computer with DVD Decrypter. It's a double feature disc so it only has 1 PGC (plus the intro). Therefore, both movies are on that single PGC listed Cell 1 and Cell 2. I only want to rip one at a time so I unchecked #2 and only ripped Cell 1. I've tried it about 3 times and have restarted the computer each time but every time, the rip just stops at some random point (97%, 56%, 74% etc.). There are no read errors and it's a new disc. I hope this wasn't too confusing. Any ideas?

A new disc doesn't necessarily mean it isn't flawed. When the rip stops, what error message does DVD Decrypter give ?
What happens if you try to rip the whole disc in file mode ? You can always separate the titles later.

I just did it in File Mode and it didn't help. DVD Decrypter doesn't give me an error message when it stops. The read rate slows down to 0KB/s, the time remaining goes to unknown, and the time elapsed just keeps ticking.

It may be a new disc, but that doesn't mean it's perfect. Sounds to me like a manufacturing defect. Unless this disc is protected by ARCCOS (it's up to you do the research to find out if that's the case, but I doubt it), this problem is most likely caused by a bad spot on the disc. You can try getting a DVD cleaner and it might help a little. Ripping with another drive might also help. I've seen DVDs that just refused to rip correctly with some drives due to various defects and they would rip correctly on other drives.
