Hiya, i have done a search here to look for an answer to my problem turned up no luck, might just be not asking the right way!!

anyway, i want some software that allows me to mask a portion of my film, or blur or pixilate.
example, man walking down street with tee shirt, i want to blur what is written on it because it is offensive and i don't want it in my movie.

BUT i want to be able to do this from any angle, so if he lies down, or turns at an angle. am i making myself clear???

i assume it would need to be real time?

another example might be obsuring someones face in the background, like they do on TV shows when people don't want to be seen. crimewatch et al.

Here's hoping for a fast reply.
    Thanks in advance.
    peace and stuff.
    T.

You can do this in pretty much any good editor or compositing program. If you use Premiere then check out the tutorials at Wrigley Video. At least one covers exactly this. In your editor it will be a manual process where you will have to keyframe by hand the position of the mask/effect, and the shape if the area changes.

If you use a compositor like After Effects then you can often use the tracker to follow a given point (within reason) and use this to automate the position and movement. You will still have to manually tweak this afterwards.

You won't find much that will automatically recognise a tee-shirt, follow it, adjust angles etc. It is a part automatic, part manual process at the best of times.

There is. Just download it from adobe.

You could also look at the freeware effects tools WAX2 and ZS4. One of these might be able to do it as well. Not much in the way of guides for them though.

There doesn't appear to be a download for After Effects. Right now, all Adobe has is a "pre-order" selection.

Well, this stuff can be complex and you want to do one of the more complex activities. I would suggest that you start learning Greek.
