Hi guys, I have a ton of home movies (mostly in .avi and mpeg/mpg for mat) and would like to put them all together on a DVD with menus so I can show the family when they are over. I here Ulead Moviefactory has really bad audio sync problems so I am kinda scared about that. I do want a very high quality program (money is not an issue whatsoever).

However, I am not an expert in this type of thing, so I do want a program that is user friendly for a beginner like myself. Any help or opinions is welcome.

    Thanks in advance!!!

Best: Some filtering with avisynth. Convert with cce basic or hcenc. Author with DVD-lab pro. But it's not that user friendly...

I would test the latest tmpgenc dvd author 3, good encoder and authoring...but a bit slow though.

The first option you gave me seems a little too complicated for my expertise. I have used an earlier version of tmpgenc and it was REALLY REALLY slow. Does Adobe offer any type of movie creator? Also, what are your opinions about Sony Vegas?

Thanks so far for the post.

If money is not an issue give Ulead DVD Workshop a try. Very easy to use and very flexible. Most operations can be accomplished via drag and drop. Tons of templates or a blank slate, whatever you want. If you already have some footage in MPEG format it's ideal because you just include them in a project as is. This is particularly true if they have multiple bitrates, resolutions etc.

As far as an y audio sync issues go with Ulead products I can't say I have experienced any. I know there has been some problems in the past with specific versions such as Video Studio 8 when MPEG was the source. Since fixed in the latest versions.

The newer version of TMPGEnc is still slow but not as slow as some of the older versions.

I tried Sony Vegas just today and didn't find it very user friendly at all. I couldn't find a guide or tutorial either on it so I'm kinda lost now. Can anyone help?
