    I used to have a windows dvd player program that was an executable and it would play DVDs without having to install anything.

    I can't find this file and need this capability again. I think it was called 'wxplayer.exe' or something like that.

    Can anyone recommend simple dvd playback software that will function without the need to install any files?

    I use Media Player Classic. But its dvd navigation is not the best. You can also use VLC Media Player.

    VLC can be run from a memory card or thumb drive. I keep a copy in some spare space on my camera card.
