I am relatively new to working with this, so please excuse me if this is worded wrong.

I have an avi file that has two separate audio streams that play simultaneously when viewed, and english language track, and a spanish audio track, and I was wondering if there was a tool for removing one of the audio tracks.

Thanks for any help you can give.

  2. Hi-

You're playing this using Windows Media Player? There are several ways to fix your problem. One would be to use a better player that plays only one audio track at a time and allows you to switch back and forth. Media Player Classic is one such player. Another is to install a small app like Morgan Stream Switcher which will allow you to continue to use WMP and get one audio at a time, and switch back and forth:

And the third is to do what you asked for in the first place.

Open the AVI in VDubMod, clicking "No" to any message about VBR audio. If you don't have any VBR MP3 audio in there, you can also use VDub, if you wish. Set Video for Direct Stream Copy. Go Audio->Streams->Stream List->Highlight the audio you don't want, and "Disable". OK back out to the main screen, File->Save As, and give it a new name. Wait a minute or 2 and test.
