What resolution do most dvd recorders capture at?

    640x480i?

And, if this video is transferred to a PC for editing, does its resolution become 320x240p? i.e. 480i=240p?

  2. Most NTSC recorders capture at 720x480i for 1 to 2 hours per 4.7GB DVD. Then step down to 352x480i for longer recording times, and 352x240 for even longer times.

When you transfer the DVD contents to your computer it's the same as the DVD recorder recorded it. You're basically just copying the files.
