DVD-R and Standalone Question

I think I'm getting close but I need some opinnions. I have several posts but my question is I have a Pioneer A03 and Toshiba SD-3750. I have always made the backup DVD-R region free. I talked to Toshiba Tech support and they said I have to have a region on the DVD-R either 1 or All. I said I was getting close because when I put the DVD-R in the stand-alone it says it's loading and nothing else happens. Could they be right, that I need to have a region for it to work???

You can try to set it to ALL regions but I think it is your DVD-R media not being compatible with the player
try it in another player or DVD-Rom
