Hi there, tech-savvy people!
This regards making the NEW RCA DRC200N that they sell at Best Buy now region-free.
I went and bought the RCA DRC200N from Best Buy on April 10, 2007. I tried the known hacks (you know, the 1379 or 167 or 16719 combinations combined with open tray, menu, setup, clear and all combinations thereof), but none of them work. A friend of mine bought the same model from the same store a couple months earlier, and for him the 13690 combination still worked! We noticed that the new DRC200N now comes with a different (and much more usable) remote, so we conjecture that they must have come up with changes inside as well - which leaves the existing hacks in the dust.![]()
Soooo, is there anybody out there who got the NEW RCA DRC200N and has a proposal as to how to make the little thingy region-free? Any help is very much apreciated! 8)
Mad props to the hood,
SumDood.

Chances are the firmware is now locked to prevent the codes from working.

There are typically 2 reasons for codes not to work (aside from operator error). The firmware was changed to prevent it or there was a hardware change and the firmware is now completely different.Google is your Friend
