  1. Is there an application that will let you look at and or listen to the different streams of audio that are on a DVD and then pull a specific stream only? Like say for instance I only want the music and effects and voice.....but not the narration. Not unlike on a foreign DVD where they speak in english over the actual language used.

    Thanks.

If the audio is a 5.1 .AC3 file, you can use Tranzcode to create 6 individual mono WAV tracks. Listen to each and hope for the best.

  3. Is there a way to read a file and tell if it is a 5.1 file?

I have GSPOT, will that do it?

Do you have a link to where I can get the TRANZCODE software? I don't see it here in the tools anywhere. THANKS!

If the narration is recorded over the main audio (i.e. mixed into it) then you won't be able to get it out again using this method, and probably won't be able to get it out again nicely at all.

Yeah, but who knows - he might....

    Tranzcode:

    tranzcode_v0.40.zip

    1) Unzip, place .AC3 file in same folder as app and double click Convert2monowavs.bat

    2) If you're lucky, you'll see 6 mono wavs

    3) If you only end up with 2 mono wavs after the conversion, then the answer is "Nope"...
