    Hi all!

I downloaded a Japanese TV episode in Avi format without subtitled, so I downloaded a srt format's subtitled file for it. When I watched it on my mac, it's fine and has subtitled. However, I tried to convert it to my iPod and there is no subtitled at all.

I wonder how to combine both files, so I can convert them to my iPod?

Thanks if anyone knows how to do that!

    FIRST,
talking about a file you downloaded can be considered warez,
which is illegal to talk about here.

    So,
I will answer the question as if you asked it thusly:
"how do I burn in Subtitles to a video file so that they
show up on my iPod when played?"

    The answer is:
First, and easiest, are the subtitles selecteable where they
can be turned on to view, such as in VLC?

if yes, then the easiest way then would be to "hijack"
the file as it plays, and capture it to Mpeg-4 using
    iShowU.

    1. Open file in VLC. Pause if auto playing starts.
    rewind back to beginning.
    2. Select Subtitles to view.
    3. Open iShowU. Set capture window over VLC window.
    4. Set save options to medium quality small Quicktime file, then select either h.264 or mpeg-4.
    5. set audio to your flavor, I usually choose med for iPod video.
    6. hit record in iShowu
    7. hit play in VLC, be sure to move mouse out of the way.
    8. When file finishes in VLC, hit stop recording in iShowU.
