Once again I need some advice-I would like to download movies and then burn them so that I can play them on my dvd player and watch on our TV-I have downloaded a couple of movies useing the website LimeWire-But the problem is that they will only play on the computer, when I put the Maxell DVD- 4.7gb- disc into my Panasonic dvd player a notice comes up saying that I can`t play that disk on that machine-I have recorded the movie useing avi because just about all the movies on LimeWire have that formatI have been doing a lot of research trying to find the best site to use but to be totally honest I do not know a good one from a bad one-It seems like most of the sites want to sell you different software to download,burn,etc.-I do not have a problem buying what ever is needed to download etc.I just do not want to be the person that is getting burned-
I am useing windows xp with a VALO pc and like I said I am trying to play on a Panasonic DVD player and useing drag and drop to burn the discs.

Any advice that you can offer me would really be appreciated.

  2. You have to convert the AVI to MPEG and author, look to left "How To Convert" and "Author".

If your DVD player doesn't play AVI type files such as Divx, then as MOVIEGEEK suggests, you will need to convert them to DVD compliant video and burn to disc. For simple, try ConvertXToDVD. There is also a older freeware version, DivxToDVD still available and a few other 'All-in-one' converters in our 'Tools' section to the left. <<<<<<

And harleytio, in the future, please use a subject title that is more descriptive of your subject to allow others to find it with a forum search. I will change yours this time.

I will try harder in the future to comply with a better description of my need of help in the subject title-Sometimes when a person is just starting out and asking for help it is not easy to put a persons thoughts into printed words-Hopefully when I gain more experience,I will be better at makeing everyone happier.
